By Rosalba Libreri
 |
Born in 1950, in a small town in Sicily, called Caccamo, Luciano dreamed of one day coming to the United States and opening a restaurant. In 1969, Luciano Libreri came to the United States with his family. For many years, he worked in the restaurant business, but never owned one. With dreams leading him, he started his first restaurant business in 1983 with partner Dominick, naming it La Gondola. Located on Ashland and Montana, La Gondola established a great reputation in the Lincoln Park area, in fact most customers would dine there at least once a week. Seventeen years later, Luciano & Dominick decided to moved to Ashland and Wellington, to expand on their carry out business. |
Recently, Luciano and his family decided to move their business to River Grove, where they have been long time residents. Luciano and his son Ignazio opened Da Luciano, November 20, 2003 and with the support of River Grove, surrounding communities, long time and new customers, the family business continues to grow strong. Luciano and his lovely wife Rosalia have seven children. Angela, Ignazio, Rosalba, Pier Luca, Lucia, Aldo, and Claudio have all helped in making of this successful business.
